Brian Vandegrift Obituary

VANDEGRIFT, Brian D., Sr. Suddenly on May 28, 2010 of Waterfall, PA, former long time resident of Kirkwood, NJ, age 59yrs. Beloved husband of Marguerite (nee O'Hara). Loving father of Brian D. (Gina)Vandegrift, Jr., Eric Vandegrift and Matt Vandegrift. Devoted son of Milva (nee Cliver) Vandegrift and the late Kenneth W. Vandegrift, Sr. Dear brother of Kenneth W. Vandegrift, Jr, Valarie (Tom) Volpe and Vaughn (Terri) Vandegrift. Proud grandfather of Macy, Brianna, Gabriel, Bailey, Gillian, Anna Grace, Brady and Damian. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Brian was a graduate of Eastern HS Class of 1968. He was a Corporal with USMC from 1969 -1972 and he also proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Following in family tradition Brian was a former employee of the WB Saunders Publishing Co. but retired as a clerk from the Haddonfield Post Office after many years of dedicated service. He was a longtime member of the Gibbsboro American Legion Post #371, the VFW Post #10116 in Voorhees, the SJ Vietnam Veterans Assoc. and a present member of the PA American Legion. Brian was a member of the Great Plains Rod and Gun Club, a longtime softball player with the Gibbsboro Mens Softball League and a former member of the Kirkwood Fire Department. He was also an avid Harley Davidson rider who enjoyed riding with his closest friend "JJ". Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Weds. from 7pm-9pm at the LeROY P. WOOSTER FUNERAL HOME, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ and again on Thurs. morning from 9am-11am. Services will begin at 11am. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery, Gibbsboro, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Brian to the American Legion Post #371, c/o LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home (Address listed above) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
