Alice C. Priest, age 90, of Henderson, Ky., passed away at 6:12 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2016, at Methodist Hospital.
Alice was the daughter of George and Mary Borne and was originally from Pennsylvania. In the early 1960s, she met William L. Priest on a blind date and years later they were married. They started their family in Pennsylvania and then moved to Kentucky after William surprised her with a new house in Zion. Alice was very creative and enjoyed yarn crafts. She adored porcelain dolls and, over the years, amassed quite the collection. Alice would love to sit outside and enjoyed visiting with neighbors and friends. She liked to be up to date on the latest news. She was an honest woman and was never ashamed to speak her mind.
In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Paula Skinner.
Survivors include a daughter, Aundrea Haygan and husband, Kenneth, of Henderson, Ky.; son, Lee Borne and wife, Donna, of Haubstadt, Ind.; stepson, Riley Priest, of Hebbardsville, Ky.; six grandchildren, Jennifer Armstrong and husband, John, Joey Borne, Tony Priest, Troy Priest, Wendy Moats and Brian Hallmark and wife, Vicki; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to Alice's Life Celebration from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and again on Wednesday starting at 9 a.m. at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at the funeral home, with Reverend Stacey Haygan officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, Ky.
