Barbara Merida Obituary

Barbara Gale Chaney Merida
Evansville, IN
Barbara Gale Chaney Merida, 71, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Charlier VNA Hospice Center in Evansville.
Barbara was a member of North Woods Church and sang in her church choir until her health no longer allowed her to. She retired from Prescotec with more than 40 years of service. She was funny and known for her great sense of humor. She and her husband enjoyed many trips to St. Petersburg and Clearwater Beach Florida. She looked forward to walks on the beach and a favorite tradition of theirs was to visit their favorite ice cream parlor. She loved her family most of all. Barbara was a very giving person also. She wanted to help anyone in need and did so on many occasions. She had a loving heart and gave out of love for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Chaney and Josie Chaney Tackett and her stepfather, Eslie Tackett, 3 brothers, Donald Chaney, Dale Chaney and Jackie Chaney.

My Friend

A lady named Barbara
A sweet lady was she
A very hard worker
A true friend to me

She could make me laugh
Whenever I was down
When you talked with Barbara
It was impossible to frown

We both loved the animals
And could talk about them all day
Business came first for both of us
So on task we'd have to stay

Now you're up in heaven
Where you will laugh and play
I know we'll see and talk
Again on Judgment Day!
