Dennis Richard Capps, 65, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away March 5, 2017 at 2:30 P.M. at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana of heart complications. He was born January 15, 1952 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to Richard and Pansy (Willmore) Capps.

Dennis was employed as Site Safety Supervisor for State Group Industrial at Toyota Manufacturing in Princeton, Indiana. Dennis was an avid Harley Davidson rider. He lived to ride, especially with special riders, Steve and MJ Sacks, Jeff Ford, and many more. Dennis loved his family and friends dearly and had a heart of gold. He will be greatly missed.

Dennis is survived by his mother, Pansy Capps; daughter, Hannah Capps Barrett and husband, Greg of Evansville, Indiana; his new grandson, Okley; sister, Vicky Karcher and her significant other, Jim Nelson; the love of his life, Debbie Peak of Evansville, Indiana, her son, Ryan Phillips and wife, Jennifer, and thier dog, Buddy; special neighbors, Brent and Paula McGowen; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Richard Capps; sister, Brenda Capps; and grandparents, Bee and Okley Willmore and Fred and Olga Capps.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Don Verhines officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home.

For those who wish, memorials may be given in memory of Dennis to Okley's medical expenses, in care of Hannah Capps Barrett, and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mount Vernon, Illinois 62864.
