Norma Herrmann Obituary
Evansville, Ind.
Norma M. (Mesker) Herrmann, 92, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Deaconess VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center.
Mrs. Herrmann was a founding member of Resurrection Catholic Church. She stayed home with her children until they were old enough for her to go to work in the school cafeteria at Resurrection, where she worked for 18 years. Norma was a wonderful seamstress, cook and quilter, and loved to travel.
Surviving Norma are two daughters, Judy (Jerry) Hartmann, of Mount Vernon, Ind., and Cheryl Herrmann, of Denver, Colo.; seven sons, David (Mary) Herrmann, of Phoenix, Ariz., Gary (Dianne) Herrmann, of Evansville, Dennis (Susan) Herrmann, of Mount Vernon, Garland (Bonnie) Herrmann, of Evansville, Brian (Margie) Herrmann, of Mount Vernon, Ind.,, Herbert (Theresa) Herrmann and Daniel Herrmann, both of Evansville; one brother, Clarence (Rosie) Mesker, all of Evansville; a sister, Elnora Fischer of Mount Vernon; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charles Herrmann, in 2009; by a grandson, Nicholas Herrmann, in 1998; a great-grandson, Luke Crawford, in 1995; two sisters, Leona Deig and Verna Winiger; and three brothers, Edward, George and Arthur Mesker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Resurrection Catholic Church, Rev. Phil Kreilein officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 until 7 p.m. on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service conducted by the church at 5 p.m. Friends may also visit with the family from 10 a.m. until service time on Monday at Resurrection Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Resurrection Catholic Church, 5301 New Harmony Road, Evansville, IN 47720 or to the Quilter's Club at Resurrection Church.
