Robert M. Harlan, 78, of Evansville passed away Thursday March 5, 2015 at Heritage Healthcare Center. He was born September 12, 1936 in Evansville to the late Robert Lester and Lillan (Niten) Harlan.
Bob was a Veteran of the US Army serving in Germany and retired from Sterling Brewery. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church, Foster Care Assoc., Foster Parents and Child Care Resource Corp. Bob loved his God and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Bob is survived by his wife of 31 years, Rita (Vollman) Harlan; daughters, Rosie Lehman (Danny) of Evansville and Rhonda Espenlaub; son, Roland Harlan of Evansville; step daughters, Belinda Welp (Boone) of Chandler, Tina Wilson of Chandler and Pamela Murphy of Evansville; 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 pm Sunday March 8, 20154 at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 N First Ave., Evansville, IN 47710.
Funeral service will begin at 10:00 am Monday March 9, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Applegate officiating.
Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery where the Retired Veteran Memorial Club will conduct graveside services.

I just want to say that, you took care of us a lot and I thank you a lot for that. You tought me how to play chess. You woke us up a lot singing "time to wake up in the morning, time to wake up in the morning"! It really got on my nerves, but now it's a memory I'll never forget. You were a great man to everyone. Thank you for being one of the best grandpa's a grandchild could ever have. Rest in peace. I'll see you again. I'll carry with me at all times. Sincerely amelia!
