Ronald Meyer

St. Meinrad - Ronald C. Meyer, 84, of Saint Meinrad, passed away on Thursday August 1st at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. Ron was born November 7, 1934 in Saint Meinrad to Henry & Rose (Schwindel) Meyer. He was united in marriage to Patsy Wetzel on April 15, 1961 in Saint Meinrad Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on April 4, 2010.

Ron was a member of Saint Meinrad Parish. He served in the United States Army and Indiana National Guard. He retired from Abbey Press in 2002 after over 50 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandchildren. He was a St. Louis Cardinal and Indiana Pacers fan.

Surviving are two daughters, Debbie (Bob) Stevens of Evansville, and Kathy (Bill) Wirthwein of Ferdinand. Two sons, Rod (Krista) Meyer of Evansville, and Rick (Nichole) Meyer of Greenwood. Seven grandchildren, Josh Meyer, Mitchell Stevens, Jordyn Meyer, Bella Meyer, Ava Meyer, Ryke Meyer, and Reid Meyer.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM CDT Tuesday August 6th in Saint Meinrad Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand on Monday August 5th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM CDT, and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the service time at the church.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Michael Titzer and to Scenic Hills Care Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chemo Buddies @ 3700 Bellemeade Ave. Suite 120 Evansville, IN. 47714. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com.
