C Louise Howard

Clara Louise Howard, age 93, of Galion passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Magnolia Terrace Assisted Living. Born January 28, 1932, in Mount Gilead, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Florence (Smith) Keeran. She married Richard Howard on March 14, 1981, and he preceded her in death. Louise worked for 20 years at the Morrow County Hospital in the billing and payroll department. She was a 50-year member of First Presbyterian Church in Mount Gilead. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens, swimming, reading, yard work and she absolutely loved animals. She was a member of the Galion Women of the Moose Chapter 177 and the Galion VFW 4329. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan! She is survived by her grandchildren: Jim (Amy) Veil, Brent Smith, Traci (Jason) Atkins and Amber (Todd) Wireman, six great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her three children: D. James Smith, Mark Smith and Christine Weithman, brother Harold Keeran and sisters: Betty Mattes and Diana Callahan. The family will have a private graveside service at Rivercliff Cemetery in Mount Gilead.
