Anna Kovac Obituary
Anna May Kovac, age 87, of Stratford, died on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was the widow of William G. Kovac, Sr.
Mrs. Kovac was born in Bridgeport to the late Charles and Anna (Mihocko) Young. She had been a longtime Stratford resident and had also lived in Milford recently. She retired as a toll collector from the State of Connecticut. Anna was a very social person who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved the last few years living at Masonicare in Sandy Hook where she made many new friends.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann Scioscia and her husband, Robert, Sr. of Huntington; two sons, William Kovac, Jr. and his wife, Ruth of Wallingford and David Kovac and his wife, Donna of New Haven; twelve grandchildren, Kenneth, Sandra and Victoria Kovac, Bernadette Adams, Robert Scioscia, Jr., Renee' Fenton, Robin Scioscia, Richard Scioscia, Deanna Kovac, David Kovac, Jr., Donn Kovac and Danyell Kovac; 15 great-grandchildren, Cameron and Dylan Adams, Anthony Scioscia, Caitlin, Meghan and Lauren Fenton, Juliana, Madyson and Olivia Scioscia, Aiden Kovac, and Lucy Dexter, Harley and Julian Kovac; special nephew, Edward Oliver of Stratford; and several other nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 8:15 a.m. at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford and at 9 a.m. at St. James Church with a Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Rev. Rogerio Perri. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. To offer online condolences to the family, please visit www.pisteyfuneralhome.com.
