Bridget R. McGuire, age 45, of Stratford, CT passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 6, 2017 in her home with her loving family by her side. She was born on September 11, 1971 in Bridgeport and was the beloved daughter of Paul McGuire of Shelton, CT and Judith McGuire of Stratford, CT. Bridget was a treasured daughter, wife, sister, and aunt but above all, the most loving and devoted Mother to her cherished and adored daughter, Elise, her true pride and joy in life. In addition to her parents and daughter, she is survived by her loving husband, Kevin Smith and her loving stepdaughter Yanise Smith, her devoted sister who was also her best friend, Amy McGuire, her two loving brothers, Michael McGuire and Paul McGuire as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends. Bridget was a Stratford resident most of her life, graduating from Stratford High School. She went on to attend Sacred Heart University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design. She always loved cosmetology so went back to school, earned her license and worked as a Cosmetologist for many years. Her greatest enjoyment was found in the time she spent with her family and friends, creating lasting memories we will all cherish. She was loved by so many and will be fondly remembered for her amazing strength, her kind heart and caring ways, and her quick wit and humor. She will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of all that knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford, and are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. by meeting directly at Saint Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Amy McGuire for a trust fund for her daughter's education through the funeral home.
