Clara Garrington Obituary
Clara Garrington, age 90, beloved wife of the late Frederick Garrington, recently of Milford and formerly of Norwalk for 58 years, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at CT Hospice in Branford. Born on May 26, 1922 in Birmingham, England, Clara was the daughter of the late William and Lillian Slimm Postings. Clara enjoyed spending her time embroidering, crocheting, reading, and completing jig saw puzzles. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Clara is survived by her children, Janet Sparks (James) of Milford and John Garrington of Fort Worth, TX; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her 4 sisters, 3 brothers, several nieces and nephews, all of whom are in England. In addition to her loving husband Frederick, Clara is predeceased 1 brother and 1 daughter-in-law, Kathy Garrington.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 6, at 7:00 PM at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford CT 06460. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 5-7 PM at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460. Janet: you had one special Mom ( your Dad was too) She was great to be with and the picnic we had with her were so good. She was a very special part of our lives and will be missed very much. She looked so peaceful the other night as though she was just taking a nap. The funeral home did a terrific job. God Bless you all and help you and guide you through your losses. Prayers for the Garrington family and friends. I did not personally know Clara, but being part of the family here in Texas, I wanted to send my love and prayers. It is a devastating time for the family and I hope that God may give us all comfort knowing that this is not "Goodbye" but "See ya later." I love you all and God Bless. RIP Clara, and aunt Kathy. I love you.
