Daniel Beard Obituary
Daniel N. Beard, Jr., age 83, of Shelton entered into rest on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was the devoted wife of Rosealyn (Wells) Beard. Mr. Beard was born in Shelton on May 11, 1933, son of the late Daniel N. Beard Sr and Beatrice (Chirgwin) Beard, and he was a lifelong Shelton resident. He was an all-state football player at SHS when he graduated in 1950, and he served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. He was awarded scholarships for college, but chose to work for his father in the family business. Mr. Beard worked for over 50 years for Beard Construction, Inc. He was also a longtime member of the Connecticut Freemasons King Hiram Lodge #12 in Shelton. He is the beloved father of Lisa Savarese, Daniel (Nickers) Beard 3rd, Abbe Beard, Roger (Butch) Frybarger, Judy Nocerino, Linda Mihalcik, Diane Limauro, and Tracy Garbatini. He also leaves many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his sister Bev Tate, nephew Jeff Rhodes, niece, Jill Rhodes, and his beloved dog, Peanut. Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM. On Friday his funeral service will be at the Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Burial with full Military Honors will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton. Memorial contributions can be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405. Online condolences can be offered at www.riverviewfh.com.
