Donald Maehlenbrock Obituary
August 12, 1932 - August 9, 2025
Donald George Maehlenbrock, 92, of Leesburg, FL, passed away August 9, 2025. Born August 12, 1932, in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of Walter Maehlenbrock and Ida (Wilhelmy) Brideau.
A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, Donald was a retired Bridgeport firefighter and maintenance supervisor for the State of Connecticut. He also served as Fire Commissioner for Milford and Deputy Sheriff in New Haven County.
He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen, brother Louis, and stepson John. He is survived by his children Kurt Maehlenbrock, Donna Nevins, Beth Marsan; brother James Brideau; stepsons Frank and Kevin Lanzer; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Donald was deeply involved in Masonic and Veterans' organizations, including Corinthian Lodge #104, Wildwood Lodge #92, Scottish Rite 32°, American Legion, VFW, and The Villages Honor Flight Network.
He will be remembered for his lifelong service, devotion to family, and commitment to community.
There will be a celebration of life memorial service 10:00 am Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home 410 Webster St. Wildwood, FL 34785 with Rev. Craig Attaway Officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted by Wildwood Masonic Lodge No. 92 F.&A.M.
There will be a graveside service 12:30 pm September 3, 2025, at FL National Cemetery with U.S. Army Honor Guard and Marion County Honor Guard assisting.
In lieu of flowers donations in Donald's name may be made to Honor Flight Network Donate - Honor Flight Network
