Edna Mead Obituary

MEAD Edna Mae Mead, age 78, died Friday, March 16, at Courtland Gardens in Stamford. Born on December 16, 1928 in Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late David Irving Mead and Edna May Flemming Mead. She was a lifelong resident of Old Greenwich before moving to Monroe 10 years ago. Ms. Mead worked for FAG Bearing Co. in Stamford for many years retiring in 1996. She also work for the Greenwich School system for many years. She was a member of the DAR in Greenwich, Eastern Star Rosemary Chapter in Stamford, Order of the Amaranth, Captain Harbor Power Squadron, and a past member of the Old Greenwich Yacht Club. She is survived by her daughter, Susann and husband, Jeffrey Redston of Monroe; two brothers, Arthur Mead of Vero Beach, Fla. , Harold Mead of Haines City, Fla.; two sisters, Clara Santoro of Norwalk, Ruth Mead of North Hutchinson Island, Fla.; three grandchildren Blake Redston, Kelly Connelly and Casey Bennett. She was predeceased by two brothers, David Mead and Robert Mead. Services will be held Wednesday March 21, at 11 a.m. in the Fred D. Knapp & Son Funeral Home, 267 Greenwich Ave. Greenwich, Interment will follow in Bedford Union Cemetery, Bedford, NY. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday March 20, In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Connecticut, 10 Wall Street, Norwalk, CT 06850.
