George DeLisle Obituary

DeLISLE George E. DeLisle, age 66, of Killingworth, beloved husband of Christine S. DeLisle, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2005, after an arduous battle with cancer. Born in Tacoma, Wash., he was the son of the late George and Agnes DeLisle. In addition to his beloved wife, Christine, he is survived by his daughters, Constance DeLisle of Brentwood, N.Y. and Cheryl Gancio and her husband, Steve, of Ronkonkoma, N.Y.; and sons, George E. DeLisle III and his wife, Jeanette, of Leesburg Va. and Rodney DeLisle of Brentwood, N.Y.; grandchildren, Cherylynn, Steven, Elizabeth, Cassandra, Amanda and Peter; siblings, Sharon O'leary, Geraldine Eckhardt and Thomas Lohkamp; and also numerous nieces and nephews. He served in the United States Airforce in the 818th Airborne Division in California and Japan from 1957-1961. He was employed by the United States Postal Service for 19 years, including his career as a supervisor in Springfield, Mass. George had a good sense of humor even during his illness. He was very courteous with an empathetic mind and a passion for detail. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. A service will be held at Killingworth Congregational Church, Route 81N, Killingworth, on Monday, September 26, 2005, at 1 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of George's dog, Tori, to the Connecticut Humane Society.

To the Delisle Family,

Offering our deepest condolences at this difficult time. What a great loss it must be,and I know there are no words to ease your grief, certainly George is with the Lord but we hoped George would not have been called so soon. Always a great man, always a gentleman,he will be very missed. I know there are no words that can be spoken to make this any easier, but just believe George is in a place where he can watch over thing's for all of us. I love you very much!!
