To the Bassi Family:
We share in your sorrow over the loss of Denise & Jerry. This past boating season we had a lovely time on Amazing Grace at the annual dock party. They were lovely hosts and listened to our daughters CD of opera music. We shared homemade wine and stories with the group on their boat. They spoke highly of their daughters and you could see the love they had for each other.
They will be missed by more people than you know. How blessed we were to have them touch our lives even in its brief and casual moments.
God rest their souls together for eternity and may you find peace in the comfort of God's amazing grace.

Dear Melanie,Jen and Michelle-We were so saddened to hear of the loss of your parents. Denise took care of all four of our children, and I don't know what we would have done without her. My most wonderful memories of Denise, are coming to pick up the kids at the end of the day and sitting down with her, on the deck and just talking and laughing. We would walk around and look at her latest plantings, she was so proud of her gardens. Denise was one of those people that you meet, and feel that you have known them all your life, she was an instant friend. To the Bassi's family memebers. We are so sorry to learn of this horrible tragedy. For decades we have had the honor to serve Mr. Bassi every morning. So many customers come and go over the years but he was there every morning on his way to work as far back as we can remember, which is about 20 years. He was a pleasure so see each morning as he was always friendly and patient if it was busy. Sometimes he would run into a friend/neighbor and we could see how well liked and kind he was through his interactions with others. We can not imagine how difficult this time is for you. My heart broke when I read of the untimely death of Denise and Gerry. I knew Denise many years ago when her girls were very young and actually babysat for them a few times. Denise had such a wonderful sense of humor, a giving spirit and was always smiling or laughing. Even after all these years I remember that. I have known necie since I was 1. I have so many memories with her. I can stil remember when I went to your house in the middle of the night because my mom was in labor. I can still picture necie telling all the kids its lunch and that afterwards we could watch a movie! Lynda, your grandma is also very special in my life. She was there with necie when i was there. I have known Jerry for almost 15 years. He was a gentle and a fine person. He was genuinely loved by his colleagues and fellow engineers in the construction industry.

We came to know Denise and Gerry through the LISCA Regattas However, it was not until this past regatta, when our committee boat was hit, and they came to our home bearing gifts in order to lift our spirits, that began a new and warm friendship.
Each and every time we were with Denise and Gerry, they shared stories about family and it was obvious how important their family was to them.

Neicy touched the lives of so many families by taking care of our children. She treated them like they were her own and pushed each of us to be better parents. She was kind, compassionate and a great friend. She would listen to our craziness at the end of a very long day, and some how have the patience to make us feel good. She was a gift to each of us and our children. We all witnessed what an amazing wife and mother she was. Gerard and Denise welcomed each of our families into their family. We were privileged to have had them as part of our lives. Shelly, Jenny Poo and Mel, we are deeply saddened by this tragedy. Always know that your parents profoundly touched the lives of many.
