Helen Carrano Obituary
Helen Carol Carrano, age 77, of Stratford, passed away in her home on July 4, 2025. Carol was born in Los Angeles, California on September 19, 1947, to the late Charles and Mary (Diamond) Biggs and had been a longtime area resident, she earned her BS and MS from Southern Connecticut State University and was retired from the Norwalk Board of Education where she taught for many years in the Norwalk Public School System and mostly at Ponus Ridge Middle School. She was an avid crafter, photographer, and traveler. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Her survivors include her beloved children, Joseph C. Carrano of Bristol and Jennifer Carrano-Permison of Stratford and cherished twin grandsons, Jake and Jace. Visitation on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. All other services will be private. My deepest sympathy to the Carrano family. I taught with Carol at Ponus for several years and am surprised and very saddened by her death. I've often thought of her and wish now that I had been in contact with her. I'm so very sorry for your tremendous loss.
