Dear Mrs. Gaffney/Patty/Janet/Bobby,

I'm so sorry. I just returned today from Florida with my family when my Mom told me of Jim's passing.

You may remember Jim and I were best of friends in high school, and all though we didn't do a good job of staying in touch, when we would cross paths, it was like we'd seen each other the day before.

"Running" with Jim in those days will always at the top of my list of memories. The fact that we won't ever "cross paths" again saddens me. Again, so sorry for your loss.
