Jane O'Connor Obituary
Jane Kranyik O'Connor, age 55, of Fairfield, passed away on August 21, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Wonderful memories of Jane will be cherished by her children, Meri Kathryn O'Connor of New York City and Charles James O'Connor of Fairfield; ; her mother, Louise Narkevics Kranyik, of Fairfield; her sister, Mary Louise Kranyik, and her husband George J. Woods, of Fairfield; two aunts, Patricia Kranyik Butzko, of Fairfield, Kathleen Johnson, of Bridgeport; a long time family friend and close companion, Edward Ulatowski, Jr. of Fairfield, her former husband, Charles G. O'Connor, of Fairfield; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her father, Dr. Robert D. Kranyik.
Raised in Fairfield and Easton, Jane was a graduate of Joel Barlow High School in 1978. She worked many years with the Great American Stamp Company and Ed Mitchell's, both of Westport. She enjoyed crafting as well as gatherings with family and friends. A kind, fun loving person, Jane's family and friends each knew she cared for them. She will be deeply missed.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road in Fairfield Center. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM at Holy Cross Church in Fairfield. Her interment in Aspetuck Cemetery in Easton will be private.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Saint Vincent's Medical Center's Ninth Floor South for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Jane and her family.

My heart is with Jane's family in this time of sadness. Jane and I rode the bus together to Helen Keller and then to Barlow. She was also my roomate in Vermont when we worked at Magic Mountain together. We had an unforgetable ski season that winter. Jane was always so sweet, fun and I miss her dearly. Rest in peace my friend.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Jane's illness and then recent passing. Her lovely daughter, Meri Kate, has been a friend to both of my girls since high school. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family during this very sad time. Such a loss. Rest in peace, dear Jane.

I am so sorry to hear that Jane passed away. We were great childhood friends and I have very fond memories with her . I remember all our wonderful ski trips to her family home at Okemo . I ran into her and her mom over the years at various stores in Fairfield and I had no idea she was fighting cancer. She is such a kind yet strong person. I am so sorry she lost the battle to this awful disease. She was taken far too young. My deepest condolences to her children , her mom and to her sister Mary Lou .

I am so sorry for the loss of a dear friend. I met Jane several years ago thru the Great American Stamp Store. I will always remember her beautiful smile and how friendly she was. Heaven has a new angel. I know she will be watching over her children and her mom whom she loved so much. I will miss you so Jane. RIP
