John J. Curley
John J. Curley, age 85, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Kathleen Garrity Curley, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2025 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Fitchburg, MA on April 28, 1939, he was the son of the late John Joseph and Mary Carroll Curley. A graduate of Fitchburg State Teachers College Class of 1961, John went on to earn his Master's Degree from the University of Bridgeport. He was a mathematics teacher at Fox Lane High School, Bedford, NY, with 30 years of dedicated service. John had a deep love for his family with whom he often shared tales, stories and experiences. He was a member of the Gaelic American Club for over 50 years. He loved all things Irish especially traveling to Ireland. John had an enduring fondness for his hometown of Fitchburg, MA and the lifelong friends he made there. In recent years, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, attending games and supporting them in their interests. John was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather, who will be deeply missed by all.
In addition to his beloved wife of 54 years, Kathleen, survivors include his four loving sons, John Curley and his wife Mary of Old Greenwich, James Curley and his wife Sandra, Thomas Curley and his wife Jenn and Daniel Curley all of Fairfield, eight cherished grandchildren, John, Brendan, Ryan, James, Nicolas, Thomas, Anna and Colin, his sister, Margaret Curley of Leominster, MA, as well as four nephews and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law and his wife, Frederick Sr. and Barbara Garrity.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Rd., Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
