John Holahan Obituary

HOLAHAN John Duff Holahan, age 57, died Monday, July 17, 2006 at Richard Rosenthal Hospice. He was born in Stamford, January 26, 1949, the son of the late Michael J. and Mary McAuliffe Holahan. He is survived by his brothers, Robert E. Holahan of Stamford, James R. and Michael D. Holahan of Frasier, Colo. and Paul Holahan and his wife, Barbara, of Fairfield. He is also survived by a niece, Cayley Bowers; and a nephew, Michael Bowers, both of Fairfield. He attended Fairfield Prep and was a graduate of King School and the University of Notre Dame in 1973. Mr. Holahan was an account manager with Coca Cola Enterprises for 31 years prior to his retirement in 2005. He also served as a shop steward and was a past president of the Teamsters Local 1040 and a member of the VFW of Darien and the Ponus Yacht Club. Mr. Holahan served in the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971 as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 1200 Shippan Avenue, Stamford at 10 a.m. There are no calling hours and interment will be private. The Nicholas Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 105 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to VNA Hospice Care, 1029 Main Street, Stamford, CT 06902. www.cognetta.com.

I'm so sorry to hear about Duff. I have alot of great memories of him. Went to alot of games with him and had alot of good times at Fiddlers with him. He left us way too soon and I will miss him.
