Lazaros Yiannoulis Obituary
Lazaros Yiannoulis age 67 of Shelton, loving husband of 45 years to Ifigenia Georgopoulos Yiannoulis passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 4, 2021. Born in Katerini, Greece, he was the son of Aristofanis and Vasiliki Papanikolaou Yiannoulis. Lazaros came to the United States in 1970 at the young age of 16 with hopes and dreams to be successful. That is what he accomplished and so much more. With his wife, he had a beautiful family that motivated him everyday to work hard to provide them with every happiness and opportunity. Lazaros worked in the restaurant industry for all of his life, working and owning the Sherwood Diner, Pagliaros Luncheonette and most recently Bill's Drive In. Lazaros had a heart of gold, always willing to give everything he could to anyone in his family and his community that needed support. All that knew him were captured by his energy, his light and his sense of humor.
In addition to his loving wife Ifigenia, he leaves behind his children Aristofanis Yiannoulis and Vicky Yiannoulis and husband Mark Kearns, grandchildren Alexander and George Kearns; siblings Nikos Yiannoulis, Christos Yiannoulis, Maria Yiannoulis, Litsa Yiannoulis and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Konstandinos Yiannoulis.
Friends are invited to go directly to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Avenue, Bridgeport on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 12:30pm where the Rite of Burial will be officiated by Father Georgios Livaditis, Presbyter, followed by interment in St. John Cemetery, Monroe. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 11:30am until time of service at the church. Please wear masks during all services. The Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport has been entrusted with the services. Donations may be made to Holy Trinity Church in memory of Lazaros.
