Major Bacik Obituary

Bacik, Major James J.
Major James J. Bacik, age 84, of Shelton entered into rest on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Gaylord Hospital. He was the devoted husband of 48 years to Jeanette (Boudreau) Bacik. Mr. Bacik was born in Bridgeport on July 14, 1932, son of the late James and Mary (Timko) Bacik and was a Shelton resident since 1976. He served with the U.S. Air Force for 21 years before his retirement in 1975. During his career he earned the rank of Major and also received the Purple Heart, Distinguished Flying Cross and 6 Air Medals. Mr. Bacik is the beloved father of Timothy J. Bacik and his wife Michele, Jeanne Dziewulski and her husband Douglas, Lise Robinson, Dan Bacik and his wife Kim, Michelle Caruso and her husband Matthew, Jonny Maria Bacik, and James Alden Bacik, brother of Jean Casey, Don Bacik, Tom Bacik, and the late Mary Tirreno. He is the loving grandfather of 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mr. Bacik is also survived by several nieces and nephews. On Wednesday, friends are invited to go directly to St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton for his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. His burial with military honors will follow at Lawn Cemetery.
