Margaret Lobdell Obituary

LOBDELL Margaret (Peggy) K. Lobdell, age 86, died on Monday, November 26, at her son's home on Martha's Vineyard after a long battle with cancer. She was born on August 8, 1921, in Bridgeport, the daughter of Stephen P. and Margaret Lehman Kish. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard J. Lobdell, and her sister, Veronica (Ronnie) Goddard of Albuquerque. She is survived by her three children and their wives, James H. and Virginia Lobdell and Kenneth A. and Karen Lobdell of Martha's Vineyard, Mass., and Stephen A. and Deborah Cook Lobdell of Fairfield; seven grandchildren, Darren, Kristin, Max, Jacob, Hannah, Matthew and Shannon Lobdell; five great-grandchildren; and her brother, Stephen O. Kish of San Francisco. She is also survived by her long-time companion, Peter Hryharrow. Peggy attended Williams College and worked in banking in Fairfield for 45 years progressing from administrative officer to branch manager. Her last position was at Fleet Bank in Fairfield. Friends may call on Saturday, December 8, from 12:30 to 2:30 at the Fairfield Funeral Home of Edmund W. Dougiello, 36 South Pine Creek Rd. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Peg's memory may be made to Hospice of Martha's Vineyard, P.O. Box 2549, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557 or Vineyard Nursing Association, P.O. Box 2568, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557.

Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you. I'm sorry to hear of her passing; now she will be with Howey and her good friends Ted Handley and Margaret Handley-Doyle. You might not know my name; I'm Margaret and Teddy's daughter.
