Mary Melita Obituary
Mary Teresa (Haggerty) Melita, age 74, of Stratford, beloved wife of Anthony Philip Melita, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 in Bridgeport Hospital. Mrs. Melita was born March 23, 1940 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (Mockler) Haggerty and had been a lifetime area resident. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include four children John Melita and his wife Susan, Theresa Grant, Robert Melita and Mary Alice Melita; three stepchildren Susan Milia, Debra Conti and Anthony Melita; seven grandchildren Richard Grant, George Grant, Jason Melita, Anthony Melita, Nicholas Melita, Laurli Melita and Jeremy Melita; one sister Alice Zawadski and her husband Jack and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Scott Souza; a grandchild Justin David Melita; her brother Clyde Haggerty and a son-in-law James Grant. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. by meeting directly at Our Lady of Grace Church, 297 Second Hill Lane, Stratford.
