Buda, Michael J. Buda Sr. age 70 of Stratford beloved husband of Diane Lemieux Buda passed away peacefully in his residence with his loving family by his side. Michael was born on August 30, 1943 in Bridgeport and was the son of the late Frank G. and Margaret Reeves Buda Sr. He was a member of the United States Marines and the proprietor of Buda Plumbing and Heating Company for over 40 years. Michael was also employed by the General Plumbing and Heating Company and Carpenter Steel as a pipefitter. Michael enjoyed gardening, taking care of the yard, collecting coins and baseball cards and was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokol Assembly #9 and Boy Scouts Order of the Arrow. In addition to his beloved wife Diane of 46 years, Michael is survived by two daughters, Michele Buda Pankowitz of Stratford and Danielle Buda White of Stratford, two brothers, Robert Buda of Fairfield and Frank G. Buda Jr. and wife Barbara Stratford, one sister, Jean Buda of Milford, and several nieces, nephews, godchildren and cousins. Michael was also predeceased by his son Michael J. Buda Jr. and one sister Margaret Stempert. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday December 10, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home 2220 Main Street Stratford and at 11:30 AM in the Holy Name of Jesus Church 1950 Barnum Avenue Stratford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Andrew G. Marus. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:00-11:00 AM at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home.
