I was absolutely devastated to hear this very sad news. I loved being around him in class and when I would stay after school with him. He would always make jokes with me and always make me laugh non-stop. It felt like whenever you got that special 1:1 time with him that you knew him forever. I can never forget an amazing. funny and welcoming guy like him. I will forever cherish the wonderful memories I had the chance to share with him.

Mr. Curry was the greatest teacher I had seen as a 8th grader. Entertaining, informational, cool, he was a role model to say the least. Rest easy Michael.

Mr. Curry made my middle school years. And that says a lot as middle school was not something I look back on as "good times". He was so personable and really left an impression on myself. I remember when I would act up in class he would send me out of the room to go count the leaves on the tree through the window across from his room. He was the best and my absolute favorite teacher I´ve ever had.

Mr. Curry was literally the best teacher I ever had. I had him for middle school and when he transferred over to the high school I had him as well. I'm really sorry for his loss. He was literally the reason as to why I enjoyed coming to science class in high school and he used to always pick on me obviously Jokingly and I would do the same. I'm really sorry for your loss. He was such a great man.

Although I´m at a loss for words with this news, I´d like to share how I remember Mr. Curry. I´ll always remember him as my favorite teacher in middle school, but also an educator that had an immense impact on my life. He was the first teacher I had that overlooked my learning "disability" and saw my full potential as a student to succeed. I got my first academic award from him in his 6th grade science class and I´ll never forget that day. He told me how it was so well deserved and I´d improved so much since the start of the year. I´ll never forget how hard I laughed in that class and how much I´d learned and how efficient he was in his process as a teacher. Rest peacefully Mr. Curry. You had an incredible impact on your community that won´t be forgotten.

I had the pleasure of working with Michael Curry for the two years I was at Madison Middle School. Although it was a short time, the impact he had on me as a friend and colleague was immeasurable. Although I am out of Connecticut, I always hoped I would have the opportunity to meet up with him again.

Mr.Curry is what I knew him as, he always made our class laugh. We shared so many memories, he helped me so much and gave me all the knowledge that he had to give. He was the best teacher that I have ever had, and I really wished that one day I´d be able to see him and show him my college degree in Education. He inspired me to become a teacher, he took his time to teach me and help me understand Math and Physical science. I will never forget the day I graduated high school, getting to talk to him about how I was going to college. He was so excited and I could see it in his eyes that he was so very proud of me after everything I had been through. Now I´m finishing my first semester at SCSU, I would not be where I am now if it wasn´t for him. He truly saved me and I will always look up to him, not only as a student but as a friend. I will get my degree and become an amazing teacher because of him.

Mr. Curry was my science teacher freshmen year. He welcomed me with open arms and was the funniest teacher I knew. We got along so well and I looked forward to being in his class everyday. I will miss his kind and funny spirit. May he rest peacefully.

I am so sadden to hear of the loss of Michael. We were neighbors to his parents since 1980. He was a great person. My children loved shooting hoops and having him as a teacher at Madison. This is a huge loss for the family as well as the community. May he rest in peace.

He was one of my homeroom teachers at Madison Middle School, during the '06-'07 school year. Mr. Curry made things feel safe when he was around. It was his height partially, but also his friendly personality. He was really good with kids. I only have good memories of him. He will be missed.

My heart is shattered. Michael was one of my students in my language arts class. Smiling that big Curry smile, he entered my classroom, lifting my spirits. As a teacher students would sing his praises, always eager to learn science. Michael was a good man, a talented man, and a fabulous man. May his memories help those who loved him most, and those who called him a friend.
