Robert T. "Bob" Keane Sr.

KEANE Robert T. "Bob" Keane Sr. age 65, of Tolland, beloved husband of Joela J. (Cianciola) Keane for 43 years, passed away Friday, February 10, 2006 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport, on February 6, 1941, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Ann G. (O'Donnell) Keane. Bob grew up in the Bridgeport area and was a graduate of Fairfield Prep and Fairfield University. He moved his family to Tolland in 1971 and was a communicant of St. Matthew's Catholic Church. Bob began his career in automobile sales at Balch's of East Windsor and was currently employed for the last 13 years as a salesman/finance manager at Hoffman Enterprises. Bob enjoyed spending time with his loving family and many friends. He was an avid NASCAR Fan with a special place in his heart for Dale Earnhardt Sr. He also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and vacationing in the Outer Banks of Duck, N.C. Besides his loving wife, Bob is also survived by his three sons, Robert Keane, Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Tolland, Joseph (Jody) Keane and his wife, Chantel, of Tolland, Timothy J. Keane and his wife, Lisa, of Vernon; his three daughters, Jennifer A. Younghusband and her husband, Robert, of Hudson, N.H., Amy J. Steed and her husband, John, of Vernon, Patricia Peasley and her husband, Jeff, of Tolland; his 15 grandchildren, Jenna and R.J. Younghusband, Corey, Collin, Clayton and Cooper Keane, Brianna, Haley and Joey Keane, Hannah, Jo-Jo and Jack Steed, Madison and Tommy Peasley and Chloe Keane; his two sisters, Nancy Groves of Arlington, Va., and Patricia Kimmerling and her husband, Bob, of Fairfield; his two brothers-in-law, Julius DeNitto of Trumbull, and Joseph Cianciola of Bridgeport; a sister-in-law, Letitia Francouer and her special friend, Jack Mertz; a special friend he called "daughter" Pauline Cleaver; and several loving nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Maryann Steed and the staff at Hartford Hospital for their loving care. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at 10 a.m. from the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home 551 Talcottville Rd. (Rte. 83) Vernon, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Matthew's Church, 111 Tolland Green, Tolland. Interment will follow in South Cemetery, Tolland. Calling hours will be Tuesday, February 14, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
