Robert Kuhar Obituary

Robert A. Kuhar Sr.
It is with great sadness that the family of Robert A. Kuhar Sr., age 82, of Milford announces his passing on December 14, 2020 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, due to complications from the Covid-19 virus. Bob was born in Bridgeport on June 2, 1938 to the late Andrew and Ethel (Grosner) Kuhar and had resided in Milford for nearly 60 years. He was a graduate of Stratford High School, class of 1956, and attended the University of Bridgeport. Bob was the second-generation co-owner of A.T. Kuhar and Sons Electrical Contractors. He was an active member of the Milford community, serving as coach to his children's youth sport teams, including Milford Little League and American Legion baseball. He was a life member of the Milford Elks Lodge 1589, a member of the First American Slovak National Eagle Society, as well as a parishioner of St. Peter's Church. He was predeceased by his wife Carol Canfield Kuhar. Survivors include his devoted children, Robert A. Kuhar Jr., and wife Lori; Mark Kuhar and wife Debra; Michael Kuhar; and Kathy Kuhar and husband, Thomas Lynch; their mother Margaret Cusano Kuhar; his cherished granddaughters, Ella Rose Kuhar, Karen Garcia, Melissa Garcia; his sister, Cynthia Karcich and husband Andrew; his brother, Thomas Kuhar; and his companion, Murielle King. He is also survived by his step children Timothy Canfield, Scott Canfield, Cathy Eberly and Melissa Whiting, as well as an extended family of step grandchildren and great-grandchildren…all of whom who will miss their " Papa Bob". Bob touched many lives over the years with his warm personality and friendly smile, and he will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Funeral services are private at this time. The family plans to hold a memorial celebration of Bob's life at St. Peter's Church, Milford, CT in the Spring, 2021. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home – Stratford. Those who wish to honor Bob's memory may make a donation to Academy of Our Lady of Mercy, Lauralton Hall, 200 High St., Milford, CT 06460.
