Sandra Selander Obituary
Sandra Smith Selander (Sandy) 48, passed away Thanksgiving day November 27, 2014. Born in Norwalk Ct on August 29 1966, she was the loving daughter of Thomas and Marjorie Festa of Venice Florida. Loving wife of Sven E. Selander, Jr., proud mother of Thomas, Katherine and Rebecca Selander all of Fairfield along with her loving dog Rosie. She is also survived by her siblings, Marsha Lynas (Louis), James Smith and Shirley Klein all of Fairfield and a stepsister Lisa Biehle of California. She was predeceased by her brother Kevin Smith. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews. Sandy was a loving mother who adored her children and family. She was always making her family laugh with her funny stories of childhood shenanigans, she had a contagious laugh and bright smile. Sandy was loved by everyone that knew her and will be deeply missed. Friends are invited to greet the family at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home 39 South Benson Road in Fairfield on Tuesday, December 2 from 6-8 p.m. A funeral Mass to celebrate her life will be celebrated Wednesday, December 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on behalf of the Selander Children through the funeral director. Sven, Thomas, Katie, Rebecca, Mr. & Mrs. Festa, Shirley, and Marcia, I pray that God wil keep you all under his wings and know that you will be with her one day. I will never forget our high school days, she was full of spirt, spunk, and always positive. I enjoyed our phone conversations over the years, she loved her family so much and was incredibly proud of her children, that came across in all conversations. Although I haven't seen her in years, I received a miss call from her about a month ago. It was early,in in CT, I was worried that something was wrong and text'd her back immediately. When I heard from her hours later, this is what she wrote:
Hi Kell, everything is fine....apparently my butt decided to call a bunch of people today.
Always with a funny comeback! Keep making people laugh Sandy, even up there! You will be missed.

To Sandy's Loving Family: Husband, Children, Parents, Siblings, Neices, Nephews, and the list goes on...to My Family - Sandy was a cornerstone pillar of light and laughter in our Family; at every gathering, in every memory, there she is - with a warm, mischieveous smile that beckoned each of us over to whatever part of the room she was holding court in. Sandy always included everybody, and even with that infectious teasing, she never once made you feel judged, less than, or separate. The outpouring of love and sentiment the past few days alone, confirms that these were just some of the rare, incredible gifts that Sandy shared outside our family, with the world. Along with her amazing children, and the devotion, strength and deep committment she sharedith Sven, Sandy has truly made her mark in this world, and will never be forgotten by the many, many whom she guided, included, helped and laughed with. Please take comfort in all that she was, and all that she gave....and all that she laughed. She is with God now, and in the loving arms of her brother, Kevin, her Gramma and Granpy, Agnes and John, and the others in our Family who went far too soon.

My heart and prayers go out to her family and friends.
She will be missed along with her sense of humor. Although I haven't seen her in a while, I got a missed call from her about a month ago, it was early in the morning even for CT. I thought something was wrong so I immediately text'd her. I didn't hear back from her for hours, but when I did, this was her response:
