Silvia Coppola Obituary

Silvia Coppola
Silvia (Cusano) Coppola, age 93, of Milford and formerly of Shelton, went to be with our Lord on Friday, October 11, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Pasquale Coppola. Born in Ruviano, Province of Caserta, Italy, on April 18, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Nicoletta (Melillo) Cusano. Silvia and her family came to America on February 14, 1966, and lived first in Bridgeport before eventually residing in Shelton for many years. Silvia was an amazing seamstress and was a sewing instructor in Italy. When she came to America she used those talents, working at Mitchell Brothers for many years before finally starting her own alteration business out of her home. Family was everything to Silvia, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life, and she looked forward to any time she was surrounded by them. She enjoyed Skyping with her family and friends, watching Hallmark Christmas movies, UCONN women's basketball and watching several Catholic Masses daily. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include two loving sons, Dante Coppola and his wife Carmen of Torino, Italy, and Maurizio Coppola and his wife Lori of Milford, her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Dias and her husband Michael, Megan Girard and her husband Michael and Kayla Coppola, her adored great-grandchildren, Juliet and Sawyer Dias and Leo Girard, her sisters, Antonietta Savo and her husband Giulio and Angelina Coppola and her husband Carlo, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Pasquale, of 60 years, she was also predeceased by her grandson, Serghey Coppola, her sisters, Rosalia and Maria Coppola and her brothers, Pasquale and Vincenzo Cusano.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton. Entombment will follow in Mount St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 ( www.stjude.org ).
