Thomas J. Koslowski, age 90 of Stratford passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021, peacefully at home with family at his side. He will be joining his wife Angela (Dee) in eternal rest. Thomas was born in Bridgeport April 12, 1931, son of the late William and Stella (Kahl) Koslowski and had been a lifelong area resident. Thomas was a man who wore many hats. Earlier in life he worked to help his mother in their store while he went to Warren Harding High school. He loved playing basketball and quickly was an all-star. He went on to serve in the Navy and fought for the Korean War. He spent his days after that working at Harvey Hubbell and progressed on to Shell Oil Co., Lordship Blvd. He was also a member of the East End Yacht Club. He was always active or there to lend a hand. In his spare time he worked as a mechanic for the bus company. He enjoyed watching football, trips to Port Jefferson, clamming, John Labarca's Italian hour, being around family, and playing tennis at Short Beach. He was a proud Catholic and Navy Veteran. He donated to numerous charities and will be painfully missed. He is survived by, his sister, Helen Kos lowski; daughters, Tami Jankura & Donna Koslowski; niece, Margo Bassick, nephew William Koslowski and grandchildren, Danielle Larregui and Thomas Nilan . Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. by meeting directly at St. Joseph's of Stratford National Catholic Church, 1300 Stratford Rd, Stratford, CT 06615. Interment with military honors will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery. Friends may visit with his family before service time from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the church. I remember the store on Newfield and Deforest very clearly and seeing Tom and his mom in there. I'd buy tons of candy when staying with my grandma and occasionally bring my grandma, who only drank Schaefer, LOL, a quart of beer. RIP Tom. My warmest regards to Margo too.
