February 26, 1933 - August 21, 2025
92, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at her home. She was born on February 26, 1933, in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late Colonel Mellott and Ethel (Holtry) Mellott. Marie was the widow of Richard L. Kepner who passed away on July 6, 1993.
Marie graduated from Carlisle High School in 1951. She was employed as a secretary at the former C. H. Masland & Son Carpet Factory in Carlisle and retired after more than 30 years of service. She was a member of The Meeting House in Carlisle. Marie loved to cook and was a faithful servant to Jesus Christ and lived her life helping all those that were in need. She loved her family and her church. Marie enjoyed playing the piano. She was a loving and compassionate person.
She is survived by her children, Ronald (wife Silvia) Kepner of Mechanicsburg, Linda (husband Gary) Carver of Mt. Holly Springs, Patricia Negley of Carlisle and Dwayne (wife Deborah) Kepner of Carlisle; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son-in-law John O. Negley; and seven siblings.
A visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Alan Robinson officiating. The burial will be in Waggoners Church Cemetery, Carlisle. Memorial contributions may be made to The Meeting House or to the Carlisle Salvation Army. www.EwingBrothers.com.
