Jim was always happy and upbeat and made everyone he met feel wonderful with his smile and laughter. He worked for many years with my father Francis "Smitty" Smith at Allied Pix and we remember him with the fondest of memories. His wife Mary wrote a wonderful memorial for my father when he passed away and they were both a lovely couple. Our sympathy to his family.

Jim was a wonderful man who beautified the world in his own way. He was a good man who always made people feel happy. I was about 10 years old when he took my picture in his mothers garden for a story in the paper. Still have article and photo. Thank you Jim for making a 10 year old feel special that day. Heaven has a new Angel.

Jim, as well as his wife Mary, were well known at the Cumberland County Historical Society. They were active members and presented several programs here. In 2016 Jim donated to us his photo collection and Mary's research and articles that she wrote for the Patriot. They were both kind and generous people. The staff will miss Jim's visits and his sense of humor. We will think of him each time we see one of his beautiful photos.

Having worked somewhat with him when he donated some of Mary's files to the Historical Society of Dauphin County, after Mary's death, and also when he donated some Allied Pix photos to the Society on another occasion, I have to say Jim was a wonderful man. Even when faced with somewhat less response than his donations deserved due to space limitations, he remained always a gentleman and worked with us to put his donations in the most usable position available. He was surely a great person, and his loss to the community is huge. Rest in peace, Jim. We all loved you.
