David Fierro Obituary

David Fierro was born Sept. 8, 1962, and was raised in Carlsbad, N.M. He passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at the age of 47. At the time of his death he was a resident of Aurora, Colo.
David was the kindest soul. He was the apple of his mother's eye. He was born eight years after her last son. His brothers and sisters adored him because he was the baby! David was a very athletic person. He played softball throughout his life and even made it to the All Star Championships during his younger years.
David was a person who never met a stranger. He prided himself on making friends with eve-ryone he met. David worked in retail most of his life. His saying was "I'll rest tomorrow." His first love was his wife and children. He loved taking his children to watch the Colorado Rockies baseball games and the Denver Broncos football games. David was a die-hard Broncos fan. David fought a short but vicious fight with cancer, having only being diagnosed approximately 45 days ago. His loving ways and beautiful smile will forever be engraved in our hearts.
David is survived by his wife, Audrey of Aurora, Colo.; daughters: Rhiana Fierro of Aurora, Colo., and Brittany Simpkins of Lubbock, Texas; son, Tony Fierro of Aurora, Colo.; granddaughter, Ansley Lynn Simpkins, Lubbock, Texas; step-grandson, Antonio Rodriquez, Aurora, Colo.; stepchildren: Vanessa Mulqueen of Aurora, Colo.; Monique Rodriquez of Aurora, Colo., and Andrew Rodriquez of Aurora, Colo.; brothers: Meliton Fierro III of Seattle, Wash., and Danny Fierro and wife, Maria of Hobbs, N.M.; sisters: Ruth Kober of Galveston, Texas, and Lydia Hood and husband, George of Carlsbad, N.M.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Meliton Fierro Jr.; mother, Otilia Fierro; and brother, Rudy Fierro.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave. at South Parker Road, Aurora, CO 80014, (303) 745-4418.
Interment will follow in Olinger East Lawn Cemetery, Aurora, Colo.

The Fierro Family:

I am very very sorry for your loss of a GREAT individual. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all. David was truly a very unique person. I will miss his gentle touch, his sincerity, his compassion, and most of all his unconditional love for others. I spent many years knowing David, even roommates in Colorado as well as growing up together on Montclair Street in Carlsbad. I shall miss him for the rest of my life, but he will always be as close as a thought away. I want the Fierro’s to know that I loved David and considered him as part of my own family. David is now in a better place and sits with God, his mom and dad as well as his brother Rudy. God Bless Him and his kind !!
