Bruce D. Rebhorn, 86, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at River Bluff Nursing Home in Rockford, Illinois.
He was born October 13, 1938, in Elgin, Illinois, the son of Leo and Daisy (Speck) Rebhorn.
Bruce graduated from Genoa/Kingston High School in 1957. He began his career as a chemist working for the Julip Company in Sycamore, later moving to Nebraska and then St. Louis where he retired from Universal Flavors.
Bruce was a member of the First United Methodist Church of DeKalb where he served on several committees and also often served as an usher. Bruce taught bridge lessons at the DeKalb Senior Center for several years and also enjoyed playing the game.
He is survived by his brother John (Barbara) Rebhorn; his sister Ruby Rebhorn; and his sister in law Janice Rebhorn; also several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Keith; and his sister Phyllis Persons.
The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb. Burial will follow at Mayfield Cemetery in Mayfield Township, Illinois.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Rebhorn Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
