Richard Allen Padoven
Aug. 6, 1948 - July 31, 2009
Richard Allen Padoven passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 31, 2009, in Farmington. Richard was born Aug. 6, 1948, in Leadville, Colo., and moved with his family to Farmington in 1957.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, John B. Padoven.
He is survived by his mother, Charlotte Owsley Padoven of Sugar Land, Texas; his sister, Jane Rose and husband, Jim, of Missouri City, Texas; his brother, John Padoven and wife, Kara, of Santa Fe; his brother, Robert Padoven of Farmington; his niece, Shari Rose Lim and husband, Belton, of Missouri City; and grand-niece, Ava Rose Lim of Missouri City.
Richard was a 1966 graduate of Farmington High School and attended the University of New Mexico. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1968, and served in Vietnam in the 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment until he was wounded in battle near the Laotian border, and was honorably discharged with a Purple Heart.
Richard loved his friends, flowers, felines, Ford Mustangs, and, of course, the Denver Broncos.
Richard will also be missed by many dear friends.
Services will be at
10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington St., in Farmington; (505) 327-5142.

I was very sorry to hear of Richard's passing. We had been friends in junior high and high school, and kept in touch during college. I have many fun stories about him, and fond memories. He was so special. I will be in prayer for you all.
