Shawn Foley Fowler, 58, of Farmington, passed away Dec. 13, 2010, in Albuquerque. He was born Jan. 30, 1952, in San Francisco, Calif., to Bill and Georgia Fowler.
Shawn was a hard worker and loved his job. He was an employers dream. He worked for S J Gabaldon Construction for 35 years.
Shawn will be missed by those who knew him; and those who didn't will be saddened. He was a great brother and uncle. The mold was broken when Shawn was born. He was one of a kind. He had a kind heart and helped others when he could. There wasn't a person who crossed his path he didn't enjoy meeting.
One of Shawn's passions was hunting for and collecting petrified wood. He enjoyed talking about and shooting his guns and enjoyed the company of those he met at the rifle range. Shawn also liked to drive his Sandrail in the dunes and stir up the dust. He dearly loved his pets who will miss him
Shawn was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, William (Billy) Fowler III; and a sister, Mary E. Woodward.
He is survived by his son, Shawn Fowler Jr. and daughter, Kamela Fowler, both of Los Gatos, Calif. Also surviving is a sister, Candace (Blair) Brammell of Farmington; nieces, April (Gabe Acosta) Rock, Aleisha (Jason) Sumner, Rhiannon (Roger Teran) Rock, all of Farmington, Tiffany (David) Martin-Louvett of Chesapeake, Va.; nephew, Richard B. Martin Jr. of Gilbert, Ariz., great-nieces and great-nephews, Keegan, Damion, Alysa, Gabriel, Jr., Keira, Danikah, Dylon, Adian, Jeremy, Malyssa, Tera, Sarah, Craig (Jessica); and best friends, Isaac (Bubba) Anaya, David (Psycho) Munson and Lenny Chavez.
Services for Shawn will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Chapel 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to San Juan Animal League, P.O. Box 142, Farmington, NM 87499.

Shawn you came into my life when I was two or three. I knew we were going to be good friends from the start because you had a Dog with my name, Heidi. You have been like a uncle to me. You have been there throughout my life from building my playhouse to helping me with school floats. Most importantly you were my friend! I loved talking to you and seeing your smiling face. You gave and gave and never asking for anything in return. You were a bright spot in this world and you will not be forgotten. I love you Shawn!!

I have known Shawn since I moved to this area and began at Gabaldon in 1997. He was always a wonderful man, tender, witty and always there if someone needed help. I will miss him greatly and I am so happy to have know him.

I was so sorry to hear about Shawn's passing. He built my family's first home in Farmington in Westland Park in 1980. I was just a child and 30 years later...I would see him around town and he still remembered my name. He truly had a heart of gold and will be missed. I am sincerely sorry for your loss.
