Alexander Ratliff Obituary

Alexander Ratliff, Jr., 82, of 105 Whitehurst St., Elizabeth City, died on Monday, April 10, 2006, in New York City, New York. He was the son of the late Alexander and Hattie Ratliff Sr. He is the widower of Helen Beatrice Overton Ratliff. Mr. Ratliff was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the Housing Authority Of New York as superintendent of maintenance. He was a member of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the Usher Board. Funeral services for Mr. Ratliff will be held at noon Saturday at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop A. C. Robinson Jr. as eulogist. The Rev. Walter L. Smith Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Viewing will be today from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Nicole Ratliff Bowder and her husband, Lawrence, of Mount Vernon, N.Y., and Deborah Ratliff Woodberry and her husband, Willie, of Manhattan, N.Y.; two sons, Derrick Ratliff of Seattle, Wash., and Warren Ratliff of New York, N.Y. He is also survived by nine grandchildren. A.C. Robinson & Son Funeral Home, 1100 Southern Avenue, is serving the Ratliff family.

I met the Ratliffs back in the late eighties.They always treated me with kindness my thoughts and prayers will always be with the family. May God continue to bestow blessing upon you all. love gene
