Cathy Wellman Obituary
ELIZZABETH CITY - Cathy Ann Wellman, age 70, of Cedar Street, Elizabeth City, NC passed away at her residence on February 12, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas William Canby, her mother, Lois Canby, her brother, Thomas Charles Canby, and her husband, Michael Helmus.
She is survived by her son, Michael David Wellman; her grandson, Gram Solo Wellman; her niece, Heather Canby; two nephews, Thomas Canby, Jr. and Jason Canby; many great-nieces and nephews; and her two dogs, Peanut and Katie Wellman.
We all remember her for her warm and inviting nature as well as her obstinate spirit.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA at https://secure.aspca.org/donate. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the Wellman family. Online memorial condolences may be sent to the family at www.TwifordFH.com.
