ELIZABETH CITY - Stephanie Starr Riggins was born on July 1, 1977 to Eddie Patrick and Vickie Boyd Riggins in Portsmouth, VA. She made her exit from this roller coaster of life on November 21, 2015 in Elizabeth City, NC to join her welcome home party in heaven.

Stephanie attended Northeastern High School and College of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City, NC. She worked as a waitress and was a homemaker. Throughout Stephanie's journey she had made her home and many friends in Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Elizabeth City, Jacksonville, NC and Atlanta, GA.

Stephanie's greatest achievement is her four children, Caleb Levi, James Elliot, Madison Starr, and MacKenzie Faith. The legacy of Stephanie's feisty, fearless, and spitfire nature will live on through them.

She is survived by her four children, her mother, her fiercely loyal sister Amber Riggins Yasika and brother in law Greg Yaskia, nephews, Brent, Ryan and Tyler, niece Madilyn, her brother Eddie Riggins Jr. and sister Donna Angela Fine. Stephanie is also survived by her Uncle Randy (Debbie) Boyd, Uncle Charles (Juanita) Riggins and Aunt Lisa (Shaun) Norris. Stephanie's welcoming party in heaven consisted of her daddy, Papa Ira Boyd and Nanny Audrey Boyd in addition to a host of other family and friends.

Stephanie's sudden passing should instill in us, as Abraham Lincoln said, to "live a good life, and to know in the end, it is not the years in a life that count, but the life in the years."

A private memorial will be held in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk, VA, where she will be laid to rest next to her father. Miller and Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers will be assisting the family with arrangements.
