VERSAILLES -- Doris J. (Subler) Monnin, 91 of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday August 13, 2025, at 10:05 PM at Wayne healthcare. July 27, 1934, in Darke County, Ohio the daughter of the late Felix and Bertha (Grilliot) Subler.
Doris worked for the Dayton Daily News, she was a seamstress, she cleaned houses, worked at John's IGA, and Subway. She was a 1953 graduate of Versailles High School; a member of St. Denis Catholic Church; she delivered Meals on Wheels, took collections for the Heart Association and was such a caring person that she would help anybody whenever they needed help no matter what it was.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Monnin whom she married November 14, 1953; her son Dale Monnin; her brothers, John, Kenneth, Carl, and Basil Subler, and Marion Goffena; her sisters, Mary Ann Berger, Alverda Bowman, Rita Hannan, Ilene Batty, and Patricia Dabbelt.
Doris is survived by her children and spouses, Mike and Jean Monnin of Pickerington, Ohio, Linda and Bill Spahr of Versailles, Jeff and Linda Monnin of Centerville, Ohio, and Lisa and Bob Homan of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and great great granddaughter, Avery Doris.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday August 20, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Denis Catholic Church 14 East Wood Street Versailles, Ohio with Rev. Fr. Ned Brown Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday August 19, 2025, and from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM on Wednesday August 20, 2025, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio.
