ARCANUM -- Jesse Simpson, age 53 of Arcanum, Ohio passed away Wednesday August 14, 2024 at the Indiana University Methodist Hospital Indianapolis, Indiana. Jesse was born December 31, 1970 in Greenville, Ohio and the son of Shirlene Hopkins of Arcanum and the late Eugene Cooper Simpson.
Jesse was a veteran serving in the US Army and had also served in the National Guard. He was a 1989 graduate of Arcanum High School, a member of the NRA, enjoyed target shooting, bowling, art work, technology, and spending valuable time with his family.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother John Wesley Simpson; half-brother Mark Simpson; Grandmother Nancy J. Simpson and Grandfather Rome L. Simpson.
Jesse is survived by his mother Shirlene Hopkins of Arcanum; children James Cooper "JC" Simpson, David Lee Simpson and Claire Simpson all of Arcanum; sister Marla Morales of Hockley, Texas; co-pilot Mary E. Pierce of Arcanum as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday August 22, 2024 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Jim Morehouse officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will be held in the Abbottsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday August 22, 2024 from 11:00 AM until time of the services in the funeral home.
