GREENVILLE -- Matthew Ryan Knight, age 36, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away tragically on Sunday, June 26, 2022.
He was born on March 22, 1986, in Union City, Indiana, to Eric and Jenny (Farmer) Knight. Matt resided in Ohio, Tennessee, and back again.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William Conley, and Audrey Farmer; his paternal grandparents, Max and Mazella Knight.
He was a 2004 graduate of Greenville High School, and played soccer at Grace College in Warsaw, Indiana. He attended Middle Tennessee State University, a place he loved dearly, building countless lasting relationships, playing ultimate Frisbee and riding his bike everywhere. Matt had also worked several jobs in construction with his brother at JK Custom Homes and other contractors. He also worked in youth ministry at Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He considered Greenville Grace Brethren his home church, though he had attended various churches. He enjoyed playing disc golf, hiking, backpacking, and spending time with his family and friends. Matt played guitar and had a great love and appreciation for music. His two nieces, Afton and Iris, were a great joy for him and the people he worked with knew that as well, he spoke of them often.
In addition to his parents, Matt is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Jon and Rachel Knight; his beloved nieces, Afton Knight, and Iris Knight; and various aunts, uncles and several cousins, two longtime friends Kyle (Jessica) Marion of Nashville, Tennessee, and Brent (Holly) Lavy of Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
