I too have many fond memories of Mr. Bill Basen. Tom & I were best friends thru elementary & high school and I spent many days (& nights) in the Basen home, went to numerous soccer games, picnics & outings. Though I haven't seen them in many years, Mr & Mrs Basen were a big part of my life & have my enduring respect.
I pray that Mrs B is holding up well.
Thank you for your part in my life.

To the Basen clan:
My deepest sympathy for your loss. I knew Mr. Basen for all my years growing up in Torrance with Billy Basen the youngest son. I had spent many nights playing monopoly at the house on 231st street. Mr. Basen was a wonderful man and although I have not seen him in over 15 years, he will be dearly missed. I have many fond memories spending time at the Basen household.
Again, I am so sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,
Jerry Marshall

With Uncle Bill's passing, it brings a sad end to the five Basen brothers.
We will always remember the wonderful times when they would all gather at our house on Cook Ave. The liquer and the laugher flowed freely...fun times. Do you think there are hangovers in heaven?
We loved you, Uncle Bill, and will miss you dearly. Thank you for all you were to us.

Dear Great Uncle Bill,
Even though I've seen you only a handful of times, I will miss you. My Grandfather, Robert Basen, talked about his times with you before he died in 2001. I'm so glad I taped him during one of those times when he talked of his past with his Brothers.
You also were a wealth of information when it came to family history. I'm so glad you took the time and researched our roots.
You were a great man and will be missed.

My recollection of Uncle Bill was that he was a man's man.... strong, passionate and wise. At family gatherings he was always so jovial. Him and my Aunt Anne were inseparable and a model couple. This must be incredibly hard for my Aunt. He left behind three great sons whom I know admired him so much.
Times like this are tough and we can only hold on to our memories
Cheers Uncle Bill!!

You were like a father to us. I remember you called me a sponge because I hung on your every word wanting to learn more. Thank you for everything you taught us and for setting the bar so high. We love you Uncle Bill. Gary, Roz, Geoff Brian and Josh xx

Over the years I grew to know my Uncle Bill as so admirable. He will be missed by so many I'm sure. It has been an honor to know my Uncle Bill as long as I have.
