We lost an original in David Grimm. When we moved to Boulder in 1993, he was one of the best things about the place. He loved and respected traditions, and holidays with Dave, Roz, and their kids were classic affairs, leaving us with warm and lasting memories of Thanksgivings, Christmases, and Easters. The home was impeccably decorated with the best of the season. There was always a special sumptuous meal, post prandial singing with Roz at the piano, and lively late night debates fueled by Old Fashions. He was certainly one of my best friends for a decade. I will never forget all the time spent cranking up the wood burning stove while listening to vintage records in his man-cave garage David gabbing about the city and its gossip, the university and its plans, and then settling the politics of the day. To me he was authentic Colorado, and I learned from him to respect a real western attitude. He was certainly one of those people that you feel lucky to have included into this life.

I was the one who saw David go to death. I will always cherish the wonderful person he was. I doubt I can be joyful without him. Greetings to all who wrote about him.

David was a tour de force in the development of the City of Boulder's Municipal Channel 28, now Channel 8. He was creative and talented--an exceptional communicator. Always a pleasure for us to know and work with. He will be missed.

David helped Lucile Cyphers and me set up the Icebusters! program years ago. Ah, the good old days when life seemed less complicated. RIP, David ... blessings.

David was the perfect communicator for city politics - Boulder City politics. I was a member of the Boulder City Council and the Mayor. He looked the part and was known city-wide as our spokesperson.
David had a wonderful laugh and made friends throughout the City.
to his sise and childenmy heartfelt condolences

I am so sorry for your great loss. May the God who "binds up the brokenhearted" and "comforts all who mourn" (Isaiah 61:1, 2) sustain your family during this challenging time. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy.

So long, old friend. Now you can watch it all and see it all in a fresh light, and know and understand what was truly important, and what was completely unnecessary, and what was a distraction and what was a sideshow to the big show. I hope you get to be with Frank, Jack and Bobby, Harry and FDR, Bing and Bob, and that it's all as beautiful as you imagined. You and Doug save a place at the bar for the rest of us, and have a Manhattan waiting when I get there some day. That's a wrap.
