Ray Brusha

1951 - 2020

Sgt. First Class Raymond Val Brusha passed away suddenly at home on December 20th, 2020. Ray is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jolena Brusha, his daughter Katya Laughlin, son-in-law Joseph Laughlin, his two sisters; Carolyn Seek and Becky Brusha, three nephews, two nieces and 8 great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Marvin and Evelyn Brusha, and his sister, Barbara Hamersky, Ray was born in Fairfax, MO on May 11th, 1951. Ray grew up in nearby Rockport and moved to Greely in 1972, where he met Jolena after a cross-country motorcycle trip. Ray received his BA in journalism from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1984. He retired from his position as a recruiter for the CO Army National Guard in 1999 after a total of 26 years military service. He was a long time captain of the State Pistol Team. He started a small business in 2005, A Ray of Window Service. He loved his family, the news, the Broncos, music, travel, scuba, reading, watching movies, his pets and to talk. He had a beautiful voice, was known for his sense of humor and always ready with a story. He will be dearly missed.
