Tara Eastcott

Some lives burn like supernovas, brief and brilliant, foraging the beauty of the universe in their flash through time. Tara Eastcott made her passing into the spirit world Tuesday, Oct. 4 2022. She was 43 years old. Heart defined her: Tara loved with passionate intensity, unapologetic truthfulness, the kind of love that melts through all your scars and walls and cradles your truth to the warmth of the sun. She loved fearlessly, loved the soft ones tenderly and the hard ones tenaciously. In her 13-year practice as a psychotherapist, Tara helped her clients find comfort and safety in their own skin. She helped them navigate trauma, anxiety, identity and other crises and transformations to find and embrace their own path forward, then witnessed & supported them as they evolved into their fullest expression of self. More than half of Tara's patients did not identify as cisgendered, and she was an incredible asset to the GLBPAQQ community, supporting sexual minorities, those who've suffered sexual trauma, and transitioning individuals so they are today better able to weather the challenges of worlds inside and out. Mother Nature was Tara's keeper; she nourished her spirit in the mountains, climbing steep rock faces, and loving on all the animals of the world. She'd solo the Flatirons of her hometown, Boulder, CO with her beloved dog Lola in a backpack, and the two of them traveled the world seeking sun, climbing rocks, playing with friends, and eating all the best of local cuisine. Tara spoke the language of horses, riding them bareback, over jumps, and through the complexities of dressage. They brought her immeasurable joy, and were formative to how she carried herself in this world. Tare held our hands through the shadows, and danced with us in the light. She was brilliant, beautiful, and true. Those who encountered her walk forever changed. We miss her deeply, but she is always with us, in what she helped us to become. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, MA, and earned her Psy.D from the University of Denver. She passed in San Juan Capistrano, California.
