Michael Era Walters, aged 74, of Wildersville, Tenn., passed away on December 26, 2023 after a short illness in Nashville, Tenn. Born on July 20, 1949, in Aberdeen, Miss., Mike was a kind-hearted and loving husband, father, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Walters, and his sons, Ryan Walters (April) of Huntsville, Ala., Paul Walters (Jamie), and Chris Walters of Wildersville, Tenn. Michael was also a cherished grandfather to Gaylon Douglas (Christy), Michael Walters (Michaela), Lillian Walters, Addison Walters, Braydon Walters, and Connor Walters, as well as three great-grandchildren. Survived by his sister, Robin Edwards, and brother-in-law, Raynor Edwards, of Brandon, Miss.
He was preceded in death by his parents Era and Juanita Walters of Corinth and son Michael Patrick Walters of Reagen, Tenn.
Mike proudly served in the National Guard, showcasing dedication and commitment during his military service. Over forty years in the Tool and Die industry marked Michael's professional journey, with employment across various manufacturers in Mississippi and West Tennessee. He concluded his career at Manufacturers Industrial Group in Lexington, Tenn., upon retirement. In his leisure, Mike was a shooting and hunting enthusiast. As a father, he relished fishing and spending time outdoors with his four boys.
Graveside services will be held at a later date, with Nashville Funeral & Cremation in Nashville, Tenn., assisting with the arrangements. Michael Era Walters will be remembered for his kindness, love for his family, and unwavering dedication to his country. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

May God bless you and your family in this time of loss. Michael gave my hubby his nickname in school. He evidently had a creative and playful side because the name was Spider Monkey. That´s been well over 50 years ago and occasionally he will see someone who still calls him that!
