Jason Robert Popovich, age 35, of Beaumont, CA, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, PA, died unexpectedly, Monday, July 18, 2016 in Hemet, CA.
Mr. Popovich was born August 7, 1980 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of Sandra Pinskey Koliscak and Michael (Butch) Koliscak of Bear Rocks, and Robert Popovich and Patti Popovich of Paris, TN.
Jason had been employed as a construction worker. He was an avid reader of historical novels and science fiction, and enjoyed talking politics and solving challenging puzzles. He was artistic and often made his own greeting cards. As a young child Jason enjoyed camping, fishing, riding his bike, playing video games and the outdoors. His love of nature carried over into his adulthood where he enjoyed hiking in the desert hills, rock climbing and working out. Jason was also a true animal lover.
In addition to his parents and step parents, Jason is survived by his brother, Jared M. Koliscak; his sister, Jenna M. Koliscak; his paternal grandmother, Margaret Popovich of Michigan; and his uncles and aunts, Eugene Pinskey Jr. and Sandra of Mt. Pleasant, Mark Pinskey and Bonita, and Richard Pinskey and Jessica all of Greensburg, and Joseph E. Popovich and Bernadette of Coldwater, MI. Jason was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eugene H. Pinskey and Janet R. (Mohney) Pinskey, and his paternal grandfather, Joseph B. Popovich.
Family and friends will be received Saturday August 20, 2016 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant, where a blessing service will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by Jason's Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant.
